Looking to fulfil that New Years Resolution?
Join us on 2nd February as we hold our first ever volunteer recruitment days. We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to join our dedicated team as we head into our 300th birthday year. Whether you have a love for railways or simply want to give back to your community, volunteering at the world’s oldest railway is a rewarding and enriching experience.
We are currently seeking volunteers in multiple disciplines:
- Train operations & visitor services.
- Commercial/catering and retail.
- Engineering and maintenance
- Administration and support roles.
Our friendly Volunteers will be on hand to offer you a cuppa, and explain how you can get involved and answer any questions you may have. Don’t worry full training will be provided for all roles.
Help us keep the rich heritage of Tanfield Railway alive. As a volunteer, you’ll play a crucial role in preserving and sharing the history of our unique railway with visitors from around the world.
Location
Drop in to East Tanfield station (DH 9UY) between 1130am and 2.30pm. Free parking is available. Please note, you must be 14years+ to volunteer.
